The Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari has inaugurated key TETFund projects at the Nasarawa State University, Keffi.
The projects are the new Senate Building of the university and the Central Engineering Workshop of the proposed Faculty of Engineering.
Speaking during the inauguration, Prof. Gambari stated that the inauguration of the 2020 TETFund High Impact Interventions project had added impetus to the institution’s status, noting that provision of the Central Engineering Workshop would go a long way in propelling the engineering programme of the university to be of the highest quality.
He commended TETFund for proving to be a strong collaborator and a critical partner in providing strategic infrastructure to public tertiary educational institutions across Nigeria.
In his remarks, the Executive Secretary, TETFund, Arc. Sonny Echono attributed the achievements being recorded by the Fund to the support of President Muhammadu Buhari.
“We at TETFund are working assiduously with various institutions to ensure that we complete additional 315 projects and commission them before the end of this administration. This level of achievement is because of the direct consequence of the support we are receiving from President Muhammadu Buhari”.
Also speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Suleiman Mohammed stated that the senate building and the three central engineering workshops of the proposed Faculty of Engineering of the institution were fully funded by TETFund through the 2020 Special High Impact Interventions.
According to the Vice Chancellor, the Senate building has 21 suited offices (self-contained and their toilets), 100 single offices, 42 shared toilets, six kitchenettes, one senate chamber, three conference rooms among other facilities.
He stressed further that the Gudi campus where the University is proposing to commence its Faculty of Engineering in the 2022/2023 Academic Session is now equipped with three central workshops fully completed.
