Functions and duties of the Executive Secretary, Tertiary Education Trust Fund

The Executive Secretary, Tertiary Education Trust Fund is appointed by the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria and is the Chief Executive and Accounting Officer of the Fund.

1. The Executive Secretary, subject to the general direction of the Board of Trustees, is responsible for-

• The day-to-day administration of the Fund;
• Keeping the books and proper records of the proceedings of the Board of Trustees;

• The administration of the Secretariat of the Board of Trustees; and
• The general direction and control of all other employees of the Fund

2. Apart from these functions, the Executive Secretary also directly superintends over the following specialized

Units which are under his office:

• Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit
• Internal Audit
• Legal and Board Secretariat;
• Service Compact (SERVICOM)
