The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has reiterated the need for quality project execution by Beneficiary Institutions to justify Government’s huge investments in the tertiary education sub-sector.
The member representing the South-West geopolitical zone in the TETFund Board of Trustees (BOT), Hon. Sunday Adepoju stated this while on an inspection of TETFund-sponsored projects at the Federal Polytechnic, Ede.
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Adepoju commended the management of the polytechnic for the quality of work carried out in the institution, and assured TETFund would no longer condone poorly executed projects its Beneficiary Institutions.
The TETFund BOT member also emphasized the need for effective maintenance culture by the management of the institutions.
“We have inspected the TETFund projects in the school, including completed and ongoing projects, and I am impressed with the quality of the works. The focus here is to get quality projects that reflect Government investments,” Adepoju said.
While emphasizing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s conviction that an educated nation is a liberated one set on the right track of development, he added that the President is committed to investing more in tertiary education through TETFund, especially technical education, which is the backbone of any nation that yearn for faster development.
“This is what the Renewed Hope agenda preaches, and we would achieve it,” he added.
In his remarks, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Sani Man- Yahaya expressed appreciation to the BOT member for the visit, noting that it was a step towards ensuring quality service delivery.
