The Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari has commissioned a state-of-the-art 1,150-capacity lecture and conference hall at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS) permanent site, as well as a fully equipped block of laboratories for the Faculty of Allied Sciences at the College of Health Sciences, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital as part of activities marking the university’s 50th anniversary.
Represented by the BOT member representing the North-West geopolitical zone, Alhaji Ibrahim Turaki, Rt. Hon. Masari described the facilities as transformational “game-changers” that would enhance academic excellence and research output at the university.
While giving assurance of TETFund’s commitment to delivering world-class infrastructure to its Beneficiary Institutions, the TETFund BOT Chairman explained that the projects were designed to meet both current demands and future growth in health sciences and multidisciplinary education.
In his remarks, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council of the university, Prof. Attahiru Jega commended TETFund for its intervention efforts. He stated that the new lecture hall would ease the challenges of teaching spaces, while the laboratories would provide cutting-edge facilities for training health professionals.
Also speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Bashir Garba expressed confidence that the facilities would transform the academic environment at UDUS. He noted that the lecture hall will serve as a hub for intellectual discourse and scholarly engagements, while the laboratories will significantly raise the standard of education in medical and allied health sciences.
