President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR has conferred the national honour of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) on the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa in recognition of his contributions to the development of democracy in Nigeria and dedication to national service.
The honour was bestowed on Dr. Alausa alongside other prominent Nigerians who were also recognized for their various sacrifices towards the enthronement of democratic rule in Nigeria, on June 12, 2025, in celebration of Nigeria’s Democracy Day.
Following the announcement of the award, the Board of Trustees, Management and staff of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) have felicitated with the Honourable Minister on the conferment of the prestigious honour by Mr. President.
In a letter addressed to the Honourable Minister and signed by the Executive Secretary, Arc. Sonny Echono, TETFund noted that the conferment of the prestigious honour on Dr. Alausa by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR during the memorable occasion of Nigeria’s Democracy Day was not only a testament to his patriotic contributions to the development of democratic governance in Nigeria, but also a recognition of his unwavering dedication to national service as reflected in the massive innovations introduced to transform the Nigerian Education Sector to meet global competitiveness.
While expressing profound appreciation to President Tinubu for the recognition, the Executive Secretary assured the Honourable Minister of the Fund’s renewed commitment and support towards achieving the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu’s administration.
